Showing compassion to the hurting and restoring hope.
I am Tasha Elliott. I am married and have 3 lovely children. Some of our family interests include horses, chickens, hockey, dance, baseball, singing, guitar, camping and fishing. I am someone who has journeyed through some of life's rough waters and I know without faith, family, counsellors and friends I would not be here today. My experiences with depression led me to pursue an education to become a Professional Counsellor.
I would be honored to partner with you in this stage of your journey to help heal your heart, restore your sense of hope and purpose and bring meaning back to your life.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Education in 2008 from the University of Saskatchewan. I taught for a few years before becoming a full time stay at home parent. I graduated with my Masters in Counselling from Briercrest Seminary in 2022. I worked as a counsellor with Catholic Family Services for a year and then as a wellness coordinator/counsellor with the school division.
I am a Professional Member with the CCPA #11244128 and I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor.
I am an Associate Professional Member with PACCP #731SK21
I have been trained in Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, Trauma-Informed Therapy, Attachment Based Therapy and Faith Based Counselling. I just completed my level one EMI training and certification. EMI (Eye-Movement Integration) is used to help rewire the brain and aid a person in their recovery from trauma. I am familiar with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Play Therapy and others.
Under the surface, many people suffer from the wounds of their past and they are left struggling to accept themselves and form healthy relationships with others. I believe a good counselling relationship can help to improve this.
First I want to say this: you are the expert in your life! The knowledge, skills and experiences that have shaped you, bring more expertise to the table than I or any other counsellor ever will!
I believe that counselling is not a one size fits all solution. It is a relationship built between counsellor and client. I have worked with clients of all ages and diverse backgrounds. Counselling involves conversation, trust, vulnerability and goal setting. I believe the best way to know if we will be able to work together is to start somewhere. Drop me a quick note about yourself, and we can begin a conversation..
